Woven Tree Ornament
Made in: Uganda
Artisan Group: The Women of Pader
This Woven Christmas Tree Ornament is carefully handcrafted by talented women artisans in Northern Uganda. Approximately 83 individually hand-rolled paper beads come together to create the tree, with green beads forming the branches and colorful beads scattered throughout to resemble the twinkling bulbs of a Christmas tree.
The tree itself is shaped by hand using gold wire before each paper bead is carefully woven into the design. The combination of colorful paper beads and gold wire creates a delicate, dimensional ornament that beautifully showcases the time, skill, and creativity behind every piece.
Finished with a simple white ribbon, this ornament is ready to hang on your Christmas tree or display throughout your home during the holiday season. It also makes a thoughtful Christmas gift or stocking stufferfor someone who appreciates handmade pieces with a meaningful story.
Because each ornament is handcrafted, slight variations in bead shape, color, and placement make every tree unique.
The Bead Project, a program of the Women of Pader, provides employment to 150 women making recycled paper and glass bead jewelry. These women artisans blend traditional African crafts with modern jewelry trends to create unique and lovely necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and gifts. Your purchase allows them to earn a dignified income to support their families and community.
