Woven JOY Ornament
Made in: Uganda
Artisan Group: The Women of Pader
This Woven Joy Ornament is carefully handcrafted by talented women artisans in Northern Uganda using individually hand-rolled paper beads. Each letter is brought to life in a festive Christmas color: green, white, and red.
The letters are carefully woven onto a hand-shaped gold wire frame, creating a beautiful, dimensional design that showcases the patience, skill, and creativity of the women who made it. Each ornament is unique, with natural variations in the paper beads and weaving that make your piece one of a kind.
Finished with a simple white ribbon, the Joy Ornament is ready to hang on your Christmas tree or display throughout your home during the holiday season. It also makes a thoughtful Christmas gift, stocking stuffer, or meaningful addition to a holiday display.
The Bead Project, a program of the Women of Pader, provides employment to 150 women making recycled paper and glass bead jewelry. These women artisans blend traditional African crafts with modern jewelry trends to create unique and lovely necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and gifts. Your purchase allows them to earn a dignified income to support their families and community.
