The Women of San Juan are part of an indigenous group in Honduras called the Tolupanes and come from the San Juan tribe. They live in a remote area called Montana De La Flor. Weaving is a handicraft that has been passed down through many generations. The suyate leaves used to make the baskets grows in the higher altitudes of Montana De La Flor and the women walk for several hours to pick it. It then has to be laid out to dry before being used to create the dragonflies.

Approx. Size: 4" diameter

Note: String colors used on each piece vary.
