Ti Fom Necklace
Made in: Haiti
Artisan Group: 2nd Story Goods
The Ti Fom - ”little shapes” in Haitian Creole - that dance across this necklace are made with locally-sourced upcycled aluminum and oh so fun. Throw it on with a t-shirt to add a little whimsy or stack it with other necklaces!
All 2nd Story Goods jewelry incorporates upcycled and/or local materials. This reflects their values of positively impacting the earth and the local economy of Haiti, as well as the redemption of giving old things a 2nd Story. Their jewelry team has become experts in their craft since 2011 when they started out teaching the skills, crowded together on children’s school benches in Jubilee! Local materials and local skills are married to make beautiful aluminum pieces. Recycled aluminum is melted and poured into sand molds to set by makers who have been working with aluminum to make cooking pots for years. Each piece is labor-full. Which we love, because more labor means more people with jobs!
