Rosie’s Boutique was founded by Touch of Hope, a nonprofit that provides quality education and orphan care in Haiti. Each Rosie’s Boutique artisan has graduated from Touch of Hope’s Starfish Program, which provides support, parenting classes and skills training for women at risk of relinquishing their children to orphanages. Your MarketPlace purchases enable these women to rise out of their circumstances and work toward a self-sustainable future. Artisans receive a fair wage that empowers them to send their children to school and provide for their families' everyday needs.
Meet the Artisans
When Hurricane Matthew struck Haiti in October 2016, Micheline and her children lost everything. In the midst of deep loss, Micheline found renewed hope through Rosie’s Boutique, where she earns a stable income hand stitching greeting cards. She has been able to build a new home, is now sending her kids to school and saving money so she can one day purchase her own land. Her joy has returned, thanks to you!
Malite is determined to provide for her children. Her employment with Rosie’s Boutique provides her with a stable income that has transformed her life. Your FMSC MarketPlace purchases are such a blessing to her – she now has the resources to care for herself and her children.
Kenia’s life changed once she started handcrafting cards for Rosie’s Boutique. She enjoys the work and is now able to take care of her daughter, Afaina. As a result of Kenia’s stable income, Afaina is now going to school. “This work has helped me so much. Before working here, I was living in a very difficult way,” she said. “Connecting with Rosie’s
Boutique has changed my life.”
