New Beginnings is a ministry of FMSC food partner Handfuls of Hope, a nonprofit committed to bringing Jesus Christ into the lives of all who they touch through missions, education and evangelism. The artisan program employs women in difficult situations, offering them a dignified way to earn a living and support their families.
Meet the Artisans
Mirina
Mirina is employed by FMSC MarketPlace partner New Beginnings in the small village of Catalina in the Dominican Republic. She makes beautiful bracelets from the national stone, Larimar, found only in the Dominican Republic. Through her work she is able to support her son. Mirina dreams of one day going to school and studying at the university.
