JusTea

JusTea began with a simple idea: create a better way for Kenya’s small-scale tea farmers to share their tea with the world. Since 2012, JusTea has partnered directly with farming families in Kenya’s Nandi Hills, paying fair prices for hand-picked tea leaves and creating steady employment within the community. Together with the Katah family, JusTea helped establish Kenya’s first farmer-owned and managed Artisanal Tea Cottage Factory, giving farmers a greater role in producing and sharing the tea they grow. Today, these partnerships continue to support farming families while bringing fresh, high-quality Kenyan tea to tea drinkers around the world.

Agnes

Agnes

Agnes, a tea plucker and member of the Life Gardens project with JusTea and Thriving For Good in Nandi Hills, Kenya. When Agnes isn’t plucking tea she is either tending to her community garden or caring for her 2 children. Organic gardening has helped Agnes in such a way that she no longer has to buy vegetables from the market. She is also able to grow natural medicinal plants like Artemisia which keeps her family free of malaria.

Monica

Monica

Monica is one of the amazing tea pickers from JusTea's Kenyan tea gardens. As a veteran tea plucker, Monica knows the ins and outs of harvesting the best leaves to make delicious tea blends. But Monica's job isn't just about producing top-notch tea. Hand-picking tea also provides her family of five with a steady income that allows them to put food on the table and plan for the future. And here's a fun fact: Monica and all of her children are left-handed! ⁠

Beth

Beth

As a dedicated mother, Beth works tirelessly to support her two sons and daughters. Her employment with JusTea empowers her to pay for her children's school fees, ensuring they have access to education and a brighter future.⁠

Emmanuel

Emmanuel, is one of JusTea's processing supervisors in the cottage factory. He is proud to share his teas with you!
