Gabriel was nearly 3 years old, but weighed only 6 pounds. His grandmother, Imelda, was heartbroken. She laid him on one of her dresses to keep him comfortable; he didn't look like he would live much longer.

A friend told Imelda to bring the little boy to FMSC partner African Children Today. She'd heard they could help even very malnourished children. After eating FMSC food for a few months, Gabriel grew to 18 pounds!

Gabriel's grandmother is an artisan with FMSC MarketPlace™ partner Hope Again Women. She now supports Gabriel with the handwoven baskets they taught her to weave.
